Size & weight guidelines

All our Parcel Post and Express Post satchels are part of Australia Post’s new If It Packs, It Posts packaging range. That means when you use one to send an item up to 5kg, you get a flat rate to send anywhere in Australia based on the size of the packaging and delivery speed you choose – not its weight.

There are four packaging sizes, each with its own flat rate. We’ve also added new Express Post Parcel Boxes to our packaging range.

Simply fit your item in any of our Small, Medium, Large or Extra Large satchels or boxes, and you’ll pay the flat rate for that size and delivery speed. As long as it’s under 5kg, if you can pack it in, it posts.

You can use anything from our If It Packs, It Posts flat rate packaging range to send items up to 5kg within Australia using our Express Post or Parcel Post delivery services. There’s a wide range of boxes, padded bags, mailers and tubes to choose from.

Popular items from our If It Packs, It Posts packaging range in price from $1.50 for a Small Tough Bag to $3.50 for an Extra Large Parcel Box.

Simply choose any of our Small, Medium, Large or Extra Large packaging options and when paying for your packaging, add the postage rate for that size. Your postage will be a flat rate based on the packaging size and delivery speed you choose, not its weight. As long as your item’s 5kg or under, if you can pack it in, it posts.

Prefer to use your own packaging? As long as your packed parcel is 5kg or under, you can send it standard post (Parcel Post) or Express Post to anywhere in Australia using new tiered flat postage rates.

There are four flat rates based on weight ranges. Once you know your weight range and your delivery speed, you know your postage cost.
